Renting the Runway

It's been quite a while since my last post, and a lot has changed since then. I've graduated from Penn State and moved half way across the country to the beautiful state of Colorado. As much as I miss Wawa hoagies and going down the shore, Denver has introduced me to some wonderful new things such as good beer and hot yoga.

With my current career hunt going on and my school loan bills starting to come in, one thing that I have to watch this holiday season is my budget. While it is tempting to buy a new outfit for every holiday party coming up, it's just not worth it to purchase a festive outfit that you wouldn't dare repeat next week, or even next year. This is where Rent The Runway comes to the rescue!

Rent The Runway is a New York start-up that allows customers to rent designer pieces such as dresses, accessories and shoes.

"At Rent the Runway, we believe that everybody deserves a Cinderella experience. Today, we provide millions of members the ability to rent designer dresses, accessories and other essentials for approximately 10% of retail prices, around all the special occasions in their life. We work with over 160 of the best designer brands to bring luxury to all those who appreciate it. Launched in November 2009, Rent the Runway has grown to be the leader in the global fashion rental space and is known as a "Netflix for Fashion"."

It really is pretty great. You can search for items in a variety of ways, but my favorite is by occasion. You can find awesome pieces perfect for occasions such as weddings and holiday parties. I also love that I can narrow down my search for items in the $30-50 price range. No more buying a dress just for a wedding and leaving it untouched in the back of your closet for another 5 years (and then it doesn't fit...).

So, ladies, go ahead and check it out - I'm sure we will all be dressed like celebrities this New Year's Eve!
